Parcel calculators

Find the weight a parcel is actually billed on, and the point at which its size starts costing more than its contents.

What drives a parcel invoice

  1. Cubic size. Length times width times height, with each dimension rounded up to the next whole inch before anything else happens.
  2. The divisor. 139 for FedEx and UPS daily rates, 166 at UPS retail. A bigger divisor means a smaller billable weight, and it is negotiable on volume.
  3. Billable weight. The greater of the actual weight and the dimensional weight, rounded up to the next pound.

Everything else — zone, fuel, residential, additional handling, oversize — is applied on top of that billable weight, which is why shaving an inch off a carton is worth more than it looks.
